We aim to embed equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) as ‘business as usual’ across every part of the culture and operations of the MRC/BHF CoRE in Advanced Cardiac Therapies.
We actively work to challenge and remove barriers to access, experience, and outcomes – ensuring that all our staff and, regardless of their background, have the opportunity to thrive.
We track representation across all levels of REACT and take decisive action when this falls short of our values. We draw on existing EDI initiatives within our three partner institutions, integrating and strengthening them within the Centre.
Through inclusive recruitment, targeted development programmes, and fostering psychological safety and allyship, we are working to cultivate a research environment where diversity is celebrated and drawn upon, equity is actively pursued, and inclusion is the norm.
We work to make every member of our community aware of their EDI responsibilities and, by providing training and support, empower them to contribute to a more inclusive Centre culture.
Our leadership is accountable, our processes transparent, and our ambition is to set a national benchmark for inclusive research excellence.
