Andreas is REACT's Programme Manager, working from King's College London to support work across the centre.

Andreas has a background in vesicle trafficking, cell biology and rare disease which provides a strong foundation for understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying cardiovascular disease and therapeutic intervention. This background enables him to effectively oversee REACT's multimillion-pound funding scheme and appreciate the scientific rigor required at each stage of our therapeutic development pipeline.

What drives Andreas most is the opportunity to bridge fundamental research with clinical translation. REACT represents a unique chance to accelerate the journey from target identification to therapeutic reality, addressing the urgent global need for cardiovascular regeneration. The potential to save lives through systematic, rigorous therapeutic development is deeply motivating.

The aspect of REACT that fascinates Andreas most is our target validation and testing pipeline that is in development. This systematic approach to evaluating potential therapeutics - from initial target identification through preclinical validation - represents a critical infrastructure gap in cardiovascular research. Equally compelling is our vision to establish REACT as an international hub. He is excited by the ambition to creating a centre of excellence that extends beyond individual projects and attracts global collaboration, to help catalyse innovation, share expertise, and ultimately expedite the delivery of life-saving cardiovascular therapies to patients worldwide.
