Liam is a cardiovascular scientist with expertise in bioinformatics focused on investigating disease progression in cardiovascular conditions.

Liam's focus as part of REACT is to utilise his experience to investigate the cellular and molecular factors which contribute to myocardial infarction (heart attacks) and heart failure. Leveraging these findings, he seeks to develop novel approaches to delivering therapies exclusively to diseased/damaged regions of the heart, encouraging regeneration and repair whilst preserving the rest of the heart.

Given how widespread and devastating these diseases can be, it is essential to me that every effort be taken to research means of preventing, protecting and repairing the hearts of those afflicted. REACT is a major contributor to this research endeavor, and Liam is grateful to be able to contribute to such a worthwhile cause. By bringing together experts across the UK from academia, the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, he is hopeful and invested in the fact that REACT will make major strides - from lab bench to patient bedside - to develop therapies to help cardiac patients in the UK and worldwide.
